Driving Research, Innovation and Policy Impact in HUMAN-IT
The HUMAN-IT Action is structured around three interdisciplinary Working Groups (WGs), designed to address the key challenges emerging from exponential digital technologies, organizational transformation, and societal change.
The Working Groups constitute the core engine of the Action, fostering research excellence, stakeholder engagement, dissemination, and capacity building across academic, policy, and practice-oriented communities.
Role and Contribution of the Working Groups
The Working Groups (WGs) are the operational backbone of the HUMAN-IT Action. They play a central role in advancing research excellence, fostering stakeholder engagement, and translating knowledge into societal and policy impact.
Awareness & Stakeholder Engagement
Advance awareness of the Action and its network within and beyond academia, while building virtuous linkages with stakeholders in policy and practice.
Impact, Results & Sustainability
Showcase the major achievements and results of the Action, highlighting their relevance for society and policy, and preparing pathways for long-term sustainability.
Dissemination & Capacity Building
Ensure effective dissemination and capacity building by facilitating the transfer of research findings and insights into actionable practices and policies.

Mission & Scope
WG1 explores and systematizes the disruptive advancements related to the adoption of digital technologies, artificial intelligence and advanced analytics in Human Resource Management. The Working Group aims to generate an exponential view of HRM by integrating academic research and practitioner-driven insights, fostering innovation, and supporting science communication across the HUMAN-IT Action.

Integrate Background on Exponential Technologies and HRM
Provide literature-based and practitioner-derived evidence to drive insightful analysis and stimulate innovative discussion on technology-enhanced people management.

Develop an integrative conceptual framework defining research propositions and a forward-looking research agenda on AI and digital innovation in HRM.
Deliverable: D1.3Stimulate Innovation Projects and Initiatives
Design and promote innovative HR technology solutions capable of generating high-impact actions and experimentation in real-life organizational contexts.
Deliverable: D1.4Webinars and Science Communication Plan
Organize webinars and showcase best practices on AI-driven HRM, supporting shared sensemaking and the development of a Science Communication Plan for the Action.

Mission & Scope
WG2 investigates the profound transformations affecting organizational forms, workplace structures, and employee experience in response to technological acceleration and societal change. The Working Group focuses on redefining organizational well-being, enhancing managerial awareness, and identifying best practices capable of supporting the exponential evolution of organizations.

Systematic Review on Next-Gen Employee Experience
Conduct a comprehensive review of organizational and management literature to explore how exponential, technology-driven organizations reshape employee roles, perceptions, productivity, and motivation.

Facilitate competence and skill development processes aimed at strengthening managerial mindsets and leadership engagement through HR-centered and people-oriented approaches.

Conduct surveys, in-company research experiments, and policy-driven pilot studies to investigate organizational transformations triggered by new approaches to HRM.

Mission & Scope
WG3 investigates the societal, institutional, and policy implications of technological disruption and organizational transformation in the Human Resource Management landscape. Through extensive stakeholder engagement, the Working Group aims to build shared knowledge, inform public debate, and support evidence-based policymaking aligned with emerging socio-technical realities.

Multi-Stakeholder Surveys and Perception Analysis
Conduct surveys, interviews, and group discussions with key stakeholders and civil society actors to capture societal and macro-level implications of technological disruption and organizational change.
Deliverable: D3.1Open Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Development
Organize participatory knowledge-sharing activities to facilitate collective sensemaking on social transformations, policy challenges, and the evolving job market.
Deliverable: D3.2Community of Practice and Policy Influence
Establish communities of practice and discussion platforms engaging public managers, practitioners, researchers, and decision-makers to support knowledge creation and policy-relevant dialogue.
Deliverables: D3.3, D3.4Policy Briefs and Guidelines for the New Job Market
Generate policy briefs, guidelines, and checklists to support evidence-based decision making for the redesign of labor markets and regulatory frameworks.

The HUMAN-IT Working Groups operate as an integrated ecosystem, fostering continuous interaction across technological, organizational, and societal dimensions. Through cross-WG collaboration, the Action ensures coherence, knowledge transfer, and impact-oriented outcomes aligned with EU priorities.
Integrated Knowledge Creation
Insights generated by WG1 on digital HRM and AI feed organizational and workplace innovation explored by WG2, while informing societal and policy-oriented analysis conducted within WG3.
Cross-WG Dissemination & Communication
Joint webinars, workshops, and science communication activities ensure that research findings are translated into accessible knowledge for academia, practitioners, policy makers, and civil society.
Policy and Societal Impact
Collaborative efforts across WGs support the development of policy briefs, guidelines, and recommendations addressing labor market transformation, inclusion, and sustainable economic growth.
Capacity Building & Inclusion
The Working Groups jointly promote capacity building, early-career researcher engagement, and inclusive participation, ensuring gender balance and representation from ITCs and NNCs.
