COST Action CA24167 – HUMAN-IT was represented at the 2026 EU-PAIR – 5th Annual International Conference “Challenges and Dynamics of the European Administrative Area,” held on 18–19 June 2026 at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași, Romania.
During the conference, Prof. Dr. Nevila Xhindi, Chair of COST Action CA24167 – HUMAN-IT, delivered the keynote lecture entitled “The Human Engine of Europe’s Digital Power.” Her presentation highlighted the HUMAN-IT perspective on the strategic role of human capital, adaptive institutions, and human-centred governance in supporting Europe’s digital transformation and the future of work.
The conference provided an important platform for disseminating the objectives and activities of HUMAN-IT while strengthening dialogue with academics, researchers, and policymakers from across Europe and beyond. In addition to the keynote address, Prof. Xhindi met with the Dean of the Faculty, engaged with academic staff, and contributed to a doctoral seminar, discussing the societal and organisational implications of digital transformation with doctoral researchers.
The event also created valuable opportunities to establish new academic connections with representatives from universities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland, and Kenya, promoting HUMAN-IT and encouraging future scientific collaboration within the COST network.
COST Action CA24167 – HUMAN-IT extends its sincere appreciation to Prof. Ana-Maria Bercu and the organising committee for the invitation and for hosting a stimulating international forum that fostered interdisciplinary dialogue on European governance, digital transformation, and human-centred innovation.
Participation in international scientific events such as EU-PAIR contributes to HUMAN-IT’s mission of strengthening collaboration, disseminating research outcomes, and promoting interdisciplinary approaches to addressing the challenges and opportunities of the future of work.
