On 13 April 2026, the webinar “Exponential HRM: AI and Analytics for a New Era of People Management” was successfully held as part of the activities of the Special Interest Group (SIG) on Digital HRM & Organization (DHRMO), contributing to the networking and dissemination objectives of COST Action CA24167 – HUMAN-IT.
The webinar brought together more than 50 participants from over 15 countries, representing an interdisciplinary community of researchers, academics, and practitioners interested in digital transformation, Human Resource Management, and Artificial Intelligence.
The event opened with welcome remarks by Prof. Federico Munari (University of Bologna), President of the Italian Association of Management Engineering (AiIG), followed by an introduction to the Special Interest Group by Prof. Alessandro Margherita (University of Salento).
The keynote lecture, “Exponential HRM: Shaping a New Future for Human Capital,” was delivered by Prof. Dr. Nevila Xhindi, Chair of COST Action CA24167 – HUMAN-IT. Her presentation explored how exponential technologies, Artificial Intelligence, and advanced analytics are transforming Human Resource Management, organisational practices, and employee experience, while highlighting the importance of developing human-centred approaches to the future of work.
The scientific programme continued with presentations addressing several emerging research topics, including:
- The impact of Artificial Intelligence on personality traits;
- Algorithmic Human Resource Management and platform-enabled work;
- Competence identification, classification, and Human Resource Analytics.
The webinar concluded with an interactive discussion and closing reflections led by Prof. Mariangela Lazoi and Prof. Alessandro Margherita, highlighting future research directions and opportunities for collaboration within the Digital HRM community.
By bringing together expertise from different disciplines and countries, the event reinforced HUMAN-IT’s commitment to fostering international collaboration, promoting knowledge exchange, and advancing research on Artificial Intelligence, Human Resource Management, and the future of work.
The Action extends its sincere appreciation to all speakers, participants, and collaborators whose contributions made this inaugural SIG event a valuable platform for scientific dialogue and networking.
